Adsorption chiller heatchller
Cooling from heat.
Custom-designed.
The heatChiller is a scalable adsorption chiller
for cooling capacities from 10 kW to 3 MW.
It uses available heat from 50 °C and produces
chilled water at temperatures down to 6 °C.

Natural refrigerant.
Less electricity. Lower peak load.
R718: water as a refrigerant
Water is a natural, safe and non-toxic refrigerant. It has a GWP of 0 and requires no PFAS-based refrigerants.
Driving heat from 50 °C
Hot water from just 50 °C can drive the adsorption process and be used to generate cooling.
Very quiet
As no large refrigerant compressor is needed, the heatChiller operates particularly quietly.
Low-maintenance system design
The thermally driven process under vacuum reduces maintenance effort and extends service intervals.
Electricity demand of a heatChiller
compared with conventional compression cooling
- heatChiller
- Conventional compression chiller
Over the course of a year, the heatChiller reduces the electricity required for cooling by up to 80 per cent.
1/5 of the electricity
Over the year, the heatChiller requires up to 80 % less electricity than a comparable system using conventional compression cooling.
Roughly halve peak load
By using thermal energy, the electrical peak load of the cooling system can be significantly reduced.
heatChiller at a Glance
The heatChiller.
Designed for your project.
The heatChiller uses heat from a water temperature of 50 °C as its driving energy. Inside, an adsorption process using water as the refrigerant R718 produces the required chilled water.
This allows existing waste heat to be put to use for data centres, buildings and industrial processes.

Capacity Range and Scaling
From 10 kW to 3 MW:
matched to your actual demand.
The heatChiller combines project-specific capacity design with a modular building-block system. The heat exchangers are sized for the required cooling capacity and assembled into adsorber modules.
We complete the system with hydraulics, housing and other components from our modular range. This allows us to tailor capacity, design and scope of supply to your project.
Depending on requirements, the cooling capacity is provided by a single unit or by a cascade of several heatChillers.
Customisable
Each heatChiller can be individually designed for the project.
Scalable
Standardised core components enable cost-effective scaling.
Expandable
Several heatChillers can be combined modularly.
Configuration and Design
The system adapts to yours.
Not the other way round.

Operating Modes
Base-load unit
The heatChiller covers the continuous share of the cooling demand.
An existing compression chiller handles peak loads and, where required, redundancy.
Hybrid system
heatChiller, compression chiller, storage and controls are combined into a single integrated system.
The operating strategy is optimised for efficiency, availability and electrical peak loads.
Complete cooling supply
Under suitable temperature, load and heat rejection conditions, the heatChiller can take over the entire cooling supply.
Installation and Container Option
As a machine module.
The heatChiller can be flexibly integrated into suitable plant rooms.
A machine room specially equipped for flammable or toxic refrigerants is not required. Outdoor installation is possible depending on the project.
As a turnkey container solution.
Alternatively, the system is pre-assembled in a container together with hydraulics, controls and defined auxiliary equipment.
- Less installation work on site
- Project-specific container configuration
- Clearly defined interfaces
