Industrial Adsorption Cooling

Cooling from waste heat.
From just 50 °C.

The Adsorbus heatChiller uses available waste heat to generate cooling.

Each system is designed to match the customer’s capacity requirements and temperature profile – from 10 kW to 3 MW of cooling capacity.

heatChiller at a Glance

The heatChiller.

Designed for your project.

The Adsorbus heatChiller is a scalable adsorption chiller that uses water as the natural refrigerant R718.

Instead of a standard size, customers receive a system tailored to their actual cooling demand and the available temperatures.

Custom-designed

Capacity, temperature profile, hydraulics and installation are tailored to each project.

Flexible use

The heatChiller can be used as a base-load unit, in a hybrid system or as a complete cooling supply.

Scalable design

Cooling capacities from 10 kW to 3 MW can be provided by a single custom-designed machine or by a modular combination of units.

What Makes Us Different

Complex in material.
Industrially scalable as a system.

We turn high-performance MOF materials into a reproducible, industrially usable form.

Our MOF ring process combines the unique properties of the material with a shell-and-tube heat exchanger developed in-house – laying the foundation for scalable chillers.

MOF material

MOFs have exceptional properties when it comes to taking up and releasing water vapour.

The challenge is to harness these properties reliably, repeatably and cost-effectively in an industrial application.

 AI enhanced

The material stays standardised.

The heatChiller is customised.

Applications

Cooling for buildings, data centres and industrial processes.

The heatChiller can be used wherever cooling is needed and a suitable heat source is available.

Capacity, temperature profile and operating mode are tailored to each application.

Building cooling

The heatChiller supplies chilled water to commercial properties, public buildings and urban districts. It is particularly well suited to surface cooling systems and applications with usable waste heat, district heating, solar thermal energy or CHP units.

Data centres

Continuous cooling loads make data centres a natural fit for the heatChiller. In liquid-cooled high-performance and AI data centres, waste heat from 50 °C can be used directly to generate cooling.

Industrial cooling

In industrial applications, the heatChiller can use waste heat from air compressors, process baths, furnaces or production machinery directly to generate cooling.

Development and Production

Our own technology.
Industrially implemented.

From MOF rings and the shell-and-tube heat exchanger to the complete heatChiller, we develop and manufacture at our site in Berlin.

The concept follows a modular approach: we design each system individually and then draw on standardised building blocks.

In-house development and manufacturing

MOF rings and shell-and-tube heat exchangers are at the heart of our technology. Materials, heat transfer and system design are individually matched to one another while still following a standard.

SILICA as production partner

The heatChiller housings are manufactured by our partner company SILICA at its Berlin site. Depending on the project and configuration, the complete heatChiller is assembled either by us or by our production partner.

This allows us to combine our own technology and component manufacturing with industrial housing production and system assembly.

Project inquiry
